Why wait to spay and neuter?

Why are hormones important? Well if you were to ask this to a general person in the public they may say well they're needed to have kids or hormones are what makes us into adults. Ask a physician and they'll tell you hormones are everything. They're the reason we grow the way we do. The reason why we do things one way instead of another. Our hormones rule our lives.

1 "Hormones are your body’s chemical messengers. They travel in your bloodstream to tissues or organs to help them do their work. They work slowly, over time, and affect many different processes, including:

Growth and Development, Metabolism, Sexual Function, Reproduction, and Mood"

So, why would we remove our hormone making organs prematurely? We do not. However, the general population does for animals. How often have you gone to the vet and they push a spay or neuter procedure for your pet and they're just 4 months? Almost every time I've gone for the past 10 years this has happened

Prematurely spaying and neutering a pet can increase the risk of hip dysplasia, heart tumors, abnormalities of bone growth, lengthening of the bones, causing increased height that the body was not made to support, hypothyroidism, and so much more.

By simply waiting to spay or neuter your pet until it has reached its body maturity at the age of two years old reduces these risks.

Here are some links to help you make your decision. Do not agree to something without making an informed decision and understanding the positives and negatives of that choice.

Keep your pets safe!
